CNC Manufacturing

I took a intro to CNC manufacturing class where I learned the basic operations of mills and lathes. I practiced basic start up and running a premade program as well as basic troubleshooting.

CNC Lathe Chess Pawn

I did the full set up of the lathe including making sure all tools were set properly and sharp, zeroing the machine, and making the bar of stock was secured. I also did some minor post processing on the part to remove it from the stock and smooth the base. The program to cut the piece wasn’t made by me.

I did full set up of the mill from setting up the vice and zeroing tools. A small jog also had to be placed in the vice in order to hold the small pate properly. The program wasn’t made by me but I did practiced loading the program onto the machine and starting it up.
